The Témacine zaouiaThe Témacine zaouia

Founded in the 7th century, the city of Témacine is situated in South-East Algeria, about 600 km from Algiers. It is the only city in the world to be built on a raft of palm trees. The Tidjania zaouia dates back to the 19th century. Thousands of pilgrims converge here every year. Under the leadership of Sidi Hadj Ali Temacini, the zaouia encouraged young men to improve themselves.
Today, Sidi Mohammed Laid Tidjani continues and builds on this path. Rachid Koraïchi has started a number of projects in and around the town of Témacine.
