The oasis of Dar el Qamar, Rachid KoraïchiThe Oasis of Dar el Qamar, Rachid Koraïchi

Water is scarce in this region. From the beginning, the ancestors of Rachid Koraïchi and local people have planted palm groves in the hollows of the dunes, accepting the unvarying and unending cycle of sand climbing the peaks that have been formed and put in place by the wind. For this project, Rachid Koraïchi decided to smooth away part of the desert so that barriers of braided palms could be installed and avoid what would otherwise be a never-ending task task. He used an oil derrick to find water and provide it, drop by drop, for all the plantations.
