My ancestors who arrived in the 7th century were the first to plant palm trees in this desert area and make their lives there with some tribes.  As I live in Paris, I wanted to come back to this part of Algeria where we are witnessing a real disaster. The architecture is concrete, agriculture has been destroyed, ground water tables have been polluted and oases have been devastated. With the Dar El Quamar and oasis project, I would like to show what is possible using the inspiration of tradition while still working with modernity: building with gypsum flower binded with lime and gypsum, plantations irrigated drop by drop without using chemicals, preserving fauna (gazelles, sloughis, peacocks, fennec foxes, camels, etc.)
